Who can use this?
Food programs are open to all residents of Hancock and Washington counties experiencing food insecurity. No income verification or documentation required for gleaned produce distribution. Farmers' market incentive programs may require SNAP/EBT enrollment.
About this resource
Healthy Acadia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Hancock and Washington counties with community health initiatives. Their Healthy Food for All programs address food insecurity through multiple channels: the Downeast Gleaning Initiative collects surplus produce from local farms and redistributes it to 30+ food security programs; they coordinate the Hancock County Food Security Network; and they help increase access to farmers' markets for low-income families through SNAP/EBT matching programs.
