Getting started.
Who this helps
Ask Preble Street which meal or pantry option fits your situation. If you already work with a caseworker, ask whether they can arrange a food box through the pantry.
How to get started
For meals, check the current outreach listing. For grocery boxes, start with your caseworker or contact Preble Street about access. The pantry’s published donation hours do not establish client pickup hours.
Check the meal listing.
Preble Street lists daily meal distribution at 28 Cotton Street in Portland, from 12:30–2 p.m. Check its outreach page for changes.
Arrange grocery support.
Ask an agency caseworker about a pantry food box, or contact Preble Street to confirm current pantry access.
Ask about street outreach.
If you are sleeping outside and need food or other support, call (207) 775-0026 and ask for extension 1880.
How they can help.
Preble Street prepares meals and offers pantry food boxes through its food programs and community connections. The food pantry is inside the Food Security Hub in South Portland; meal distribution may take place elsewhere.

A few questions before you go.
Ask whether the service requires a referral, an appointment or anything you should bring. Confirm the destination for the specific service you need.
- Where should I go for the meal or food box I need?
- Can my caseworker arrange a food box?
- Has today’s schedule or location changed?
