Give through each organization’s official donation page. Support Maine does not collect the money or take a cut.
Know who you’re supporting.
These organizations publish financial reports and describe the work donations support. Explore the evidence alongside their official giving pages.

Portland public-school teacher grants
The Foundation for Portland Public Schools’ Equity & Innovation Teacher Grants help educators put classroom ideas into practice. Give through the foundation’s fund-specific donation form.
What we checked: The foundation’s teacher-grant program, its linked Kindful giving form, and FY2025 audited financial statements.
Help Tedford Housing provide shelter and support people moving toward stable housing. It also publishes a current list of household items needed by shelter guests and people setting up a home.
What we checked: The official donation page, household-supplies list updated September 23, 2026, and published FY2025 financial reporting.
Cash gifts support Tedford’s wider work unless the organization confirms a specific restriction. For goods, check its current list and arrange a drop-off first.
Who is behind it. An identifiable organization, public contact details, and a connection to the community it serves.
What the money supports. Specific programs or a named project, supported by the organization’s own reports and updates.
What it reports. Public financial statements, an annual report or tax filing. For a school project, we also look for school confirmation and a stated use of funds.
Where the donation goes. An official donation page, including any payment service linked by the organization itself.
A listing is a review of public information, not an independent audit or a guarantee of how every gift will be spent. We link the evidence and date our checks. Program results and financial context matter more than a low overhead percentage alone.
Before giving, check whether you’re making a one-time or recurring gift, whether a particular fund can be selected, and what fees apply. An unrestricted gift supports the organization’s wider work.
Work with a Maine school, shelter, or nonprofit? Send us the official fundraiser link, who will receive the money, and what it will pay for. Include a goal and closing date if there is one, plus a public report or project budget we can check.
For a school fundraiser, include a page or public contact confirming the school has approved it. Please leave out students’ names and private details about people receiving help.
