About this resource

H.O.M.E., Inc. (Homeworkers Organized for More Employment) has been serving Downeast Maine since 1970. Founded on principles of dignity and mutual support, H.O.M.E. provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, food assistance, and self-sufficiency programs on a 90-acre campus in Orland. They operate shelters and transitional houses throughout Hancock County, along with a craft cooperative, sawmill, and other employment programs that help residents build skills and independence.
