Who can use this?

Anyone can call to report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Protective services are available to incapacitated or dependent adults age 18 and older in Maine.

What to expect

When you call the hotline, a trained intake worker will take your report and ask questions about the situation. Reports can be made anonymously. If the report meets criteria, an APS caseworker will be assigned to investigate and develop a safety plan.

What to bring

Be prepared to share the name and location of the person you are concerned about, the nature of the suspected abuse or neglect, any immediate safety concerns, and your contact information (optional).
