About this resource

Peace Ridge Sanctuary operates four state-licensed shelters on 1,725 acres in Brooks, Maine, providing permanent, loving homes for over 600 rescued animals including farmed animals, equines, dogs, and special-needs animals. The sanctuary is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and won the 2024 GFAS Outstanding Sanctuary of the Year Award. Peace Ridge honors the dignity of all animals and provides educational programs about animal welfare.
