Getting started.
Who this helps
Brunswick residents who need help with basic needs may qualify. Applicants must use available resources first, such as food and fuel assistance, Medicaid, and TANF.
How to get started
The Town gives applicants a decision sheet saying whether they qualify and what they need to do to qualify for future assistance.
Schedule an appointment.
Call Human Services at (207) 725-6661 to schedule.
Complete the application.
At your appointment, each person seeking help must complete an application so the Town can decide eligibility.
How they can help.
The Town's Human Services office runs this safety-net program for residents in need.
- Food
- Electricity
- Heating fuel and LP gas

- Non-elective medical services

A few questions before you go.
Bring information about household members, proof of all household income, bills or records for basic needs, and records of work-related expenses.
- Which household costs can I ask for help with?
- Can I qualify if I have used food or fuel assistance?
- What records should I bring for each household member?
- What will the decision sheet tell me?
