Getting started.
Who this helps
Applicants must be at least 60 years old at some point during the month they receive food. They may qualify through SNAP, a Medicare Savings Program, the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), the Low-Income Subsidy Program, or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Other applicants may qualify under the 2026-2027 income guidelines, set at 150% of the federal poverty line.
How to get started
Contact the organization listed for your county to ask about enrollment and food distribution.
Check age and income.
Review the current age and income rules in Maine DACF’s CSFP Income Guidelines.
Find a county partner.
Open Maine DACF’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program page and find the organization listed for your county.
Ask about enrollment.
Call the county partner using the number on Maine DACF’s page to ask how to sign up and where to receive food.
How they can help.

A few questions before you go.
If you qualify through SNAP, a Medicare Savings Program, FDPIR, the Low-Income Subsidy Program, or SSI, be ready to state which program you receive. A verbal statement is enough to show income eligibility.
- What foods come in the package?
- Can I qualify if I do not receive one of the listed benefits?
- What proof of income should I have ready?
- Where can I receive food in my county?
