Visit famemaine.com or call FAME to learn about eligibility and how to apply. Applications open each March. Select Option 5 when calling for education-related assistance.
How they can help.
The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) administers the Tuition Waiver Program for foster and adopted youth. This program waives tuition at Maine's public colleges and universities for eligible youth who were adopted from the Maine foster care system with adoption subsidies from DHHS, or who are wards of permanency guardians with guardian subsidies from DHHS. Applications open on the first business day of March each year and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
