Financial literacy and matched savings program for Maine youth currently or formerly in foster care. Youth savings are matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 per year toward education, housing, vehicles, and healthcare. Over 700 Maine foster youth have participated.

Youth ages 14-26 who are currently in or have aged out of Maine foster care.

About this resource

Jobs for Maine Graduates coordinates the Opportunity Passport program for Maine youth who are currently or formerly in foster care. The program provides financial literacy training and a matched savings account where youth contributions are matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 per year. Savings can be used for education, housing, transportation, healthcare, and other approved investments. Over 700 Maine foster youth have participated, achieving more than $2 million in saved and matched funds.

What to expect
