Getting started.
Who this helps
Machias residents may qualify if their living costs exceed the money they have or their expenses exceed the income they can earn. All adults in the household must apply and meet with the Town Manager.
How to get started
The Town issues a written decision within 24 hours after you apply. Able-bodied people who receive help must take part in a work program and complete a weekly JobSearch/Employment Verification form.
