Apply online at My Maine Connection (gateway.maine.gov), call (207) 624-4164, or visit your local DHHS office. Processing takes up to 45 days. You may receive temporary coverage while your application is processed.

MaineCare is Maine's Medicaid program, providing free or low-cost health insurance to qualifying residents. Coverage includes doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, dental care, mental health services, substance use treatment, and more. Adults with incomes up to 138% of the federal poverty level may qualify under Medicaid expansion.
