Getting started.
Who this helps
Minot residents who cannot meet basic needs may qualify based on household income after other available resources are used. Most applicants must look for work unless a verified medical condition prevents them from working.
How to get started
If your materials are ready, staff can review your application with you in about 30 to 45 minutes. The Town provides a written eligibility decision within 24 hours. Approved assistance is paid to vendors by voucher.
Get an application.
Get a General Assistance application from the Town of Minot website or at the Town Office.
Arrange a visit.
Call the Town Office at 207-345-3305 to make an appointment. Walk-ins may be accepted, but the Town recommends an appointment.
Gather your records.
Bring adult identification, Social Security cards for household members, income and expense records, current bank statements, and landlord verification. Repeat applicants should also bring receipts from the past 30 days. For utility help, bring the full bill or a disconnect notice.
Apply in person.
Submit your application and records at the Town Office, 329 Woodman Hill Road, Minot.
