Getting started.
Who this helps
Income-eligible Maine families need proof of current eWIC, MaineCare, TANF, or SNAP participation and proof of Maine residency.
How to get started
You will meet with a certified technician to obtain a car seat. There may be a short wait or a waiting list.
Check eligibility.
Gather proof of current participation in eWIC, MaineCare, TANF, or SNAP, plus unexpired visual proof of Maine residency. See “What to bring” for accepted documents.
Call for an appointment.
Call SKCDC at (207) 582-3110, extension 113, and ask for the Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Other accepted options include a qualifying refugee resettlement letter with the refugee’s photo and I-94 number, or, if you do not have another accepted document, a current utility bill, mail with your name and address, or rental or mortgage paperwork.
