Getting started.
Who this helps
Westbrook residents may qualify if they cannot provide basic necessities and meet income guidelines. Applicants must apply for and use other available resources first. Applicants who are physically able must seek work.
How to get started
The City determines eligibility for a 30-day period based on available and expected income. If approved, assistance comes as vouchers for local merchants, and staff can make referrals to support services.
Schedule an appointment.
Call (207) 591-7015 to schedule an appointment. Applicants are seen by appointment only.
Answer the first screening.
For a first appointment, take part in the phone screening. The City uses it to review basic eligibility and explain which records to bring.
Bring your records.
Bring your signed lease or rental agreement, current bank statement, proof of household income and expenses, employment verification or pay stubs, and photo ID. Bring a medical statement if you cannot work.
