Getting started.
Who this helps
Maine residents who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawfully present noncitizens may enroll if they meet the Marketplace’s incarceration rule. Household size and income affect financial help. Starting January 1, 2027, people in most immigration groups cannot get financial help. Lawful permanent residents, COFA migrants, and Cuban-Haitian entrants may still qualify. Other immigration groups may still be able to buy coverage but not receive savings.
How to get started
CoverME.gov tells you whether you qualify for financial help. It can also help check whether anyone in your household may qualify for MaineCare.
Choose how to apply.
Apply online at CoverME.gov, call 1-866-636-0355, use a paper application from CoverME.gov, or find free help with the Find Local Help Tool.
Complete the application.
Provide information about your household, income, and current health coverage.
Compare your plan options.
Use the CoverME.gov Plan Comparison Tool to compare plans, doctors, prescriptions, and estimated costs.
Pay your insurer.
After choosing a plan, pay the monthly premium directly to the insurance company.
