Getting started.
Who this helps
Head Start serves children ages 3 to 5 from income-eligible families. Early Head Start serves children ages 6 weeks to 3 years.
Compare classrooms.
Check the Gardiner Center page for the ages and classroom types, including whether child care is included.
Follow the right path.
Open the SKCDC Pre-Application Notice. If no child is enrolled and you have not applied for child care at SKCDC in the past 3 years, use the Complete Application Form linked there. If your child is enrolled in Head Start or Early Head Start, or your family applied for child care in the past 3 years, follow the notice’s instructions to contact the enrollment manager. The phone number is on that notice.

A few questions before you go.
Check how the service works, when it is available, and any costs. Ask about communication or accessibility support if you need it.
- Which classroom could fit my child’s age?
- Could my child attend if we need child care too?
- Does Head Start charge my family?
- Can I use a child care subsidy?
