Heart of Maine United Way (formerly United Way of Eastern Maine) serves five counties in central and eastern Maine: Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Washington. Their programs include the Fuel Assistance Fund which provides emergency heating grants, the Neighbors United initiative connecting residents with donated supplies, and community investment in local nonprofits serving basic needs like food, housing, and health.
