Designed for Maine households that may not be eligible for, or have already exhausted, federal and state fuel assistance programs like HEAP. Funds are distributed through Community Action Agencies, which determine eligibility.
How to get started
Call 2-1-1 (Maine's statewide helpline, available 24/7) to be connected with a local Community Action Agency that distributes Keep ME Warm funds. A specialist will assess your situation and connect you with appropriate assistance.
How they can help.
Keep ME Warm is a statewide emergency fuel assistance fund established in 2008 through a partnership of Maine's United Ways and Community Action Programs. It is the only statewide fuel assistance fundraising effort in Maine, supplementing federal HEAP funds for households that have exhausted other resources.
- Emergency heating fuel assistance (up to 100 gallons of oil or equivalent per household)
- Referral to Community Action Agencies for additional resources
