Getting started.
Who this helps
People in Blue Hill, Brooklin, Ellsworth, Sedgwick, Surry, Trenton, or Lamoine who rely on wood heat and face a short-term heating crisis may qualify after a short interview.
How to get started
A short interview helps the wood bank decide whether it can help with a short-term heating crisis. Volunteers are available to help load the firewood.
Plan during the season.
Pickups run from early October through the end of March, or until the wood runs out.
Book a pickup.
Call Downeast Wood Bank at (207) 812-4472 or email [email protected] to make an appointment. Texting is discouraged.
Arrive for pickup.
Pick up your wood at 23 Jill’s Lane in Surry on a Saturday. Pickups begin at 9:00 a.m.
